Natural Ways to Help Fight a Cold While Traveling.

Tis the Season of Holiday Traveling…..and COLDS!

Whether you are traveling for work or pleasure we all know this time of year is the time we all are saying ” Seems like everyone is sick” or “Something must be going around” and for myself (Deynece) I travel every week and am around hundreds of people each day and am always on a plane.

All that to say I have been feeling a bit run down lately and was on the verge of losing my voice on day 1 of 11 of me traveling and was super congested. While on the go these are a few things I make sure to either travel with or get once I get to my destination and I figured I would share and hopefully this helps you too!!

SANITIZING ESSENTIALS

This is the BEEEEEEST ever Natural Lavender Hand Sanitizer that smells amazing and doesn’t dry out your hands like regular sanitizers. This is always always in my purse!! The Clorox Disinfecting Wipes I only use to clean the tray table on planes as I found out its the only part of the plane that doesn’t get wiped down…….YUCK!!!!

We all know how important it is to take your vitamins everyday, the normal vitamin you only get about 8-12% of the benefits as they take a long time to digest with all the coating and fillers. I found amazing Isotonic Vitamins online that I have been using for a while now because since they are powder that you mix with water, (which makes it Isotonic) meaning that the vitamins go right into your blood stream and you absorb almost 100% of the benefits. They start acting right away because you do not have to digest them. They are amazing but are a little larger for travel as you see on the right… but…..OMG THEY COME IN TRAVEL PACKETS!!!!! Daily Isotonic Essential Vitamin Packets.

This makes is absolutely effortless to make sure I get my vitamins everyday as I can take them absolutely anywhere so I just make sure to pack enough for each trip!

I found this post from my Instagram from 34 weeks ago of all my Natural Remedy Items! 🙂 See I told you I always do this when I get sick while traveling. Kombucha, Eucalyptus, Zinc, Grape Seed Extract (which is a great natural Antibiotic), Kick Ass Sinus, Elderberry Extract ,Umcka, Mucinex DM, Oil of Oregano,( which is a great anti viral/anti fungal protection) and Mentholatum You don’t need all of these things, but when you have a long trip or week ahead of you, or you just want to kick your cold you do what you gotta do!

Now Onto the Yummy stuff!!! My Healing Cup Of Mighty Leaf Chamomile Tea

This was the yummy Mighty Leaf Chamomile Tea I got with my lunch at The Nordstrom Café here is Denver. I made sure to ask for Extra Lemon and Honey. I don’t need honey to make it sweet but the honey will actually coat the throat and help if you are losing your voice or just feeling really sore and dry. This definitely saved my throat today. *When you can make sure to get local raw honey for the best benefits*

We all know that hotel room coffee isn’t the same as your Favorite Starbucks drink….BUT its great for making tea! My hotel room didn’t have Chamomile so I stopped at the Grocery store on my way back and picked up Chamomile Tea, Honey, Lemon, Apple Cider Vinegar and Cayenne Pepper. This is what my husband always makes me when I am not feeling good and I will tell you its amazing and really does help to cure the cold!! It has kind of a Spicy Apple Cider taste too it so I actually enjoy drinking this and love how healing it is.

On the Menu for Dinner tonight is Pho with Bone Broth! Lol like my SnapChat pic??

Pho with a Bone Broth is very healing and soothing, here is a recipe for Bone Broth Beef Pho but you can use whatever bone you want to bring out different flavors. You can add just veggies to the broth once its done or add whatever meat or fish you want as well. The normal fixings/toppings for pho would be Lime, Fresh Basil, Jalapenos, and Bean Sprouts. For sauces they use, Sriracha, Hoisen or Soy Sauce. SO YUMMY!!! I always load up the heat as much as I can stand for the added kick for my sinuses.

For those who know me, know that I prefer to always go the Natural remedy route first before having to go to the doctor. This is just my preference but you have to do what is best for you.

So that’s the day in the life of Deynece today, hope you all enjoy and got some helpful ideas!

XOXO D&M

I have been utilizing Webpage solutions since September 2009 when my health professional decide to put me on a helpful anti-inflammatory eating plan. I drink this each day of the week, I combine it with almond milk in the food processor or blender along with ice-cubes, at times I only shake it up. It really is filled with nutritional vitamins, minerals, etc- precisely what My partner and i want to get my working day started and keep me on track with my daily diet.
    Sincerely Calamia

I’m all about staying as healthy and germ free as possible, especially when traveling. I always keep hand sanitizer and clorox wipes on the ready but i’d never heard of these vitamins before. Thank you for sharing. I’ll be looking into them!
