A RED LIP = THE LITTLE BLACK DRESS OF MAKEUP… EVERYONE NEEDS ONE!
Red Lips are such a Classic, Glamorous, Bold, look and we love them especially over the holiday season.
I have heard so often when wearing red lips… ” Well it looks good on you but I could never pull it off” …. NOT TRUE!!!
Wearing a red lip is all about the confidence to pull it off and knowing which tone would be best for your complexion.
THAT BEING SAID…these are just guidelines to helping you choose your perfect red. Makeup isn’t about rules, it’s about options and here are a few that we love!
I don’t think there is 1 perfect red for every complexion so below we are showing you how versatile red lips can be on all skin tones based on the look you are going for.
For Fair Complexion Beauties:
We love a more vibrant blue based cherry red to really compliment the cool undertones of the skin to make to lips and skin really pop. Blue based reds also make the teeth look whiter, which is always a plus.

For Medium & Olive Complexion Beauties:
Medium and Olive Complexions look best in a yellow-orange red, or more of a brownish red to best compliment the skin tone.

For Medium to Dark Complexion Beauties:
Medium to Dark skin can handle more intense color, like deep reds and blue reds all look great. Fabulous Wine/Scarlet or Brick Reds look great as well.

Because wearing a Red lip is such a statement make sure to keep the rest of your makeup clean and simple with a neutral colored eye shadow or eye shadow palette, black liner and Mascara. When wearing a red lip there are a few tricks to keeping it on longer and applying better.
1.You want to make sure that your lips are hydrated before applying your red so that the lips look full and plump. My personal Favorite Lip Balms are the Bobbi Brown Lip Balm, Bite Beauty Lip Agave Mask and the Fresh Sugar Nourishing Advanced Therapy.
2. You want to make sure to use either a Red Lip Pencil to fully line the lips first or apply your red lip color with a Lip brush to help get the precise edges. If for some reason you don’t make an even line or it smudges while applying, take your concealer brush with a bit of concealer on it to define out the edges of the lip.
Red Lips are also such an easy way to take your makeup look from day to evening by just changing your lip color. I *Deynece* found my perfect red which was the Neiman Marcus Limited Edition Heart Creamy Matte Lip Color from Bobbi Brown and I paired it with the Rich Carmel Eye Shadow Palette, Winged Black Gel Liner and a couple good coats of Mascara.
