Wow!! What an amazing YEAR 2015 has been….
This year goes down as my BEST YEAR yet! My year started off seeing one of my Best Friends Donella & Rich get married in Seattle over New Years Eve! It was so wonderful to celebrate them and visit since we had just moved from Seattle, 4 months prior.
Then I was off to NYC for my BOOTCAMP for Bobbi Brown & got to spend an awesome week with my work family. We got a nice surprise when Bobbi popped in to surprise us all! I love my job!
This year my job has brought me to visit 10 states as a Featured Artist and I continue to travel monthly to Colorado, New Mexico and Utah for Sales & Education Training for Bobbi Brown in Sephora.
I started to take up running at the beginning of the year and I love it!!! I remember when I started, I couldn’t even run 1/2 miles without stopping to walk and did over an 11 min mile. After being able to go 2 miles without walking I signed up for my first 5K. It was awesome and I was so proud that I never walked. Now I can do a 10K no problem, can run under a 9 min mile and have a goal to run my first half marathon in the spring!
Running was really an amazing way for me to lose weight this year and get into great shape for my wedding. This year I am proud to say that I have lost 16 lbs and 26 inches of fat off my body and I attribute this to running, a healthy balanced diet, and lifting weights. I am not starting 2016 off with a resolution to necessarily lose weight but to maintain this healthy lifestyle that I created this past year. * If I happen to lose 10 more pounds doings so…. GREAT :)*
~~THIS WAS MY YEAR OF WEDDINGS~~
I had 6 weddings this year from May-October for my friends! I was a bridesmaid in 1 of them and was a BRIDE in August. It truly was such a fantastic life changing memorable day that I will cherish forever! The wedding festivities began when my in- laws came into town and my mother and sister threw me a beautiful bridal shower and bachelorette party. We were so excited that we had almost 50 people from family and friends fly in all over the country to be apart of our special day.
We got married August 30th 2015 at the Beautiful Heritage Gardens in Sandy Utah. I had 9…….YES 9 bridesmaids including my sister, who was my Maid Of Honor. Justin had 7 handsome men in his line as well. I know 9 seems like a lot but I have been blessed with amazing, strong, beautiful, empowering women in my life and it meant the world to me to have them all stand with me on my day. I of course enlisted them to help me with the bridal party makeup as 6 of them have worked in the beauty industry. I was so honored that I got Bobbi Brown PRO Team Member Tanya Cropsey , The Director of Artistry for North America for Bobbi Brown and my amazing boss, flew in the morning of the wedding to help me with my finishing touches and helped get my Mother and Mother in Law ready with hair and makeup.
I was incredibly pleased with all the beautiful wedding details that the team at Heritage Gardens created for me. The flowers were exquisite and the cake was so beautiful and incredibly delicious!!!!
As you all know Melissa and I have been best friends * bffffffffffffff* as we like to say, for almost a decade. When my husband and I met Nate (Melissa’s husband) a couple years ago it was an instant friendship. Nate and Melissa were in both of our lines and Brody their son was our sweet ring bearer.
We had such an amazing day and it continued to a 12 day amazing honeymoon in Playa Del Carmen Mexico with Nate & Melissa where we met awesome friends that we will have forever!
While on our honeymoon my husband told me that he thought I should start a YouTube Channel, then it started the conversation with Melissa and I, about collaborating on a blog as well. I am so happy that these ideas from our honeymoon sparked what is now an exciting and happy part of my life, having a growing YouTube channel and being able to blog with my bffffffffffff!!! So exited for what 2016 is going to bring!!!!
XOXO - D

Congratulations on a successful year and on your marriage! We have the same anniversary!!!!!! We got married August 30th, 2014 and I had 9 bridesmaids too LOL. Small world. I loved reading about your journey with running. I started running when we got to Japan in November and I’ve really grown to love it. It’s something I really hope to do a lot of in 2016 and my goal is to be able to run 3 miles without stopping by the time we head back home to Atlanta in May. Wish me luck!!!
Happy New Year,
Allison
