I have lived in 4 states in my life and I really wanted to get Washington, funny because I only lived there for 3 years. However those 3 years have changed my life. I moved to Seattle for a promotion in 2012. After moving there I was able to meet an awesome group of friends. I met a gal that I worked with and we became instant Bestie’s. She was going to a destination wedding for a mutual friend and she asked me to go with her.
I thought there was NO WAY of getting the time off so last-minute working in retail, I asked my boss and she said yes. After arriving in Playa Del Carmen Mexico I got to meet the group of friends that traveled in from all over for the wedding. I just so happened to meet a young man, Justin, who was there on vacation with his parents who became instant friends with the groom of the wedding I was attending.
We were able to get tot know each other over the course of the 4 days and found out that he lived in Ohio!! I was so bummed as I was living in Seattle. Five weeks later he came to visit me in WA, 3 months after that he moved to Seattle to be with me. We moved in together and this August we will be celebrating our 1 year wedding Anniversary! We just bought a home in Salt Lake City Utah but I will always remember those amazing 3 years in Washington. I’m so happy I have my State Necklace as a great reminder of those wonderful memories.
