Are you a busy mom that doesn’t have time to make it to the salon? I HEAR you. My hair color went from fab to drab over the course of a year until I found the Schwarzkopf Color Ultime line. It is seriously such a great way to achieve salon quality color from the comfort of your own home. And if I can do it with little ones underfoot and battling hyperemia gravardium (9 month morning sickness) ANYONE can do it!
The Schwarzkopf Color Ultime is the perfect option for busy moms who don’t have time for 3-4 hours in the salon, finding a babysitter, etc.
So with the holidays upon us, I know just because we are moms we want to look our best. Am I right? All those holiday parties and events, and hello- family pictures! With the Schwarzkopf Color Ultime line you can even color your hair to perfectly compliment the color palette you use for family pictures.
I’ve put together a few of my favorite color palettes to inspire your family pictures this season, as well as the complimenting Schwarzkopf Color Ultime. I’ve also gone a little further to give you a few of my tips when coloring at home that will help you achieve those great results you want! Schwarzkopf Color Ultime has even provided some money saving rebates and Ibotta cash back offers for this post so you can try it pretty much risk free! They are that sure you will be converted.
So without further ado…. a little family photo color palette inspiration!

And if that isn’t enough, here are a few more. I added some hair color inspiration, i’m loving the monochromatic this season, but of course you can do what you want! The best part is? If you don’t love the color, they have so many choices to choose from and coloring your hair is so dang easy you can change it! I love the freedom and choices to play around with color it gives me, without breaking the bank is even better! 😉
Now let’s talk about the hair coloring part!
My hair coloring tips!
- Thoroughly brush your hair prior to coloring.
- Wear something dark and/or old that you don’t mind getting some color on.
- Make sure you have a long tail comb for parting.
- Use hard plastic clips that can be easily washed off.
- Part and section your hair into even sections.
- Color from the sections underneath, back up to the crown of your head.
To keep your ends from processing before they are ready, wrap the portion of your ends that may have already been colored and therefore will require less processing time, with aluminum foil. Once the roots and grow out section of you hair has been processed you just slide off the aluminum foil and finish working the color through your hair. But that way you don’t have to worry about touching that part before the directed time (the instructions to color are in the box and very simple, follow their processing guidelines).
Now for a little before and after so you can see what this Schwarzkopf Color Ultime Black Cherry looks like in action!

And yes, I am 9 months pregnant, I didn’t just have a big breakfast. 😉
And here is the aisle I found the Schwarzkopf Color Ultime line on at Walmart.
