New Years Eve Fashion
Good morning beauties! How were your holidays? Did you survive? We hope they were magical and everything you hoped for! I can’t believe that the New Year is only six days away! What are your plans? Do you have a big party to attend for New Year’s Eve? Are you staying in? Or are you celebrating Noon Year’s Eve?
What is Noon Year’s Eve you ask?? Pretty much the greatest idea ever for those retired party animals. We will be sharing details tomorrow so stay tuned for that! We are also going to have some goal planning posts and free printables to help you ring in the new year right and kick some major booty in 2016! But first- New Year’s Eve fashion!
There is always a lot of buzz about what to wear for New Year’s Eve, and we took care of your makeup look with our most recent video tutorial, which you can find here. NYE makeup is so fun and one of the few times a year it’s socially acceptable to wear sequins on your face! Hooray! 🙂
You can have fun with your New Years Eve makeup whether you are wearing a little black dress, a sequin cocktail number or your pajamas to party in! Regardless of what you are wearing, all of these things have element in common, something often overlooked, but a key part of your New Years Eve look should be what you are wearing OVER it!
New Years Eve Fashion
Seriously, if you are like 80% of the country it will be cold on New Years Eve, and a high chance that it is raining or snowing. In the past I was living in Park City- the olympic ski town and home of the Sundance Film Festival. It was always a good time to see the out of towners come in, trying to hob knob with the celebrities but looking like popsicles. No matter how on fleek your eyebrows are or how well your spanx are working in that LBD, it is never a good look to be freezing. That’s what coat check was invented for.
- What we think we look like
- What we really look like
So instead of spending all my Christmas gift cards (my favorite kind of gift) on a dress, I am putting them towards a coat. It’s something I will wear more than just one night and if I order right, it’s something that will be a style staple for the minimalist wardrobe capsule I am working towards in the year 2016. (BTW has anyone else wanted to do this? If so, let’s do it together- cleaning out the closets and building a fun seasonal capsule that works hard!)
So I rounded up some of my favorite coats and wanted to share them with you all as well, in case you are in the same head space as me this year. They are in a wide variety of prices but all of them are on sale which is always a plus in my book! Can you guess which one I ordered?
Calvin Klein Hooded Single-Breasted Trench Coat
Calvin Klein Double-Breasted Belted Trench Coat
Calvin Klein Faux-Fur-Trimmed Hooded Down Coat

They say you never get a second chance to make a first impression, so why not make your coat a great first impression!

Awesome post! I remember when I was younger, I would be one of those girls freezing my butt off on New Year’s Eve just to show off my cute dress LOL. Now, times have changed and I refuse to be caught outside in the cold without a coat on. The coat is really the most important part of the outfit since it’s the first thing people will see.

Exactly! We have all been there and you are totally right, the coat is the most important!
