OUT ON THE TOWN Wasatch Brewery, Sugar House UT
So this year I had to get creative for a birthday present for my husband Justin. His birthday is just a couple weeks before Christmas which always makes it challenging. We are also really trying to budget to get our wedding paid off quickly so I wanted to think of something fun, different and cost effective. I started googling ideas and that maybe I could take him for a Beer Tasting somewhere here in SLC……Of course Utah being the strict alcohol state doesn’t do that BUT I found something even better. WASATCH BREWERY MUG CLUB!! Once you become a member the first Monday of every month you get to go in and EACH get two FREE Beers and and Appetizer. WE LOVE SQUATTERS & WASATCH BEER and it is actually the beer that was served at our wedding!
I never knew that Wasatch Brew was actually the first Brewery in Utah. Here’s a little history about this awesome Brewery.
“Where’s the beer? Where are the breweries?” Those were among the first thoughts Greg Schirf had after moving to Utah from Milwaukee in the early 80’s. Incredibly, drinking and brewing were all but forbidden. Greg took matters into his own hands and did what any self-respecting midwesterner would do: He started a brewery. Wasatch was the very first brewery in Utah – and one of the first craft brewers in all of the U.S. – brewing award-winning brews since 1986.
In 1988, Greg Schirf proposed another bill to the Utah Legislature making brewpubs legal in Utah and opened the first brewpub at the top of historic Main Street in the resort town of Park City. Wasatch continues to misbehave, turning out naughty beer after naughty beer year after year.
Wasatch and Squatters Brew Pubs, LOVE their regulars, and so we have designed a club to reward our loyal beer-quaffing, suds loving customers.
WHAT IS THE MUG CLUB?
The Mug Club is a members-only club that provides our regulars with benefits not available to other patrons.

Monthly Mug Club Mondays at the Wasatch or Squatters restaurant of your choice, where you will receive 2 (12) ounce pours of your favorite brew and a complimentary appetizer off of our menu.
- Exclusive access to quarterly Mug Club Monday parties, held on a rotating basis at the Pub, Wasatch Brew Pub Sugar House and Wasatch Brew Pub in Park City. Members enjoy complimentary appetizers and (2) 12 ounce pours of our newest beers.

Our First Monday going with our memberships we each got the amazing Seasonal Pumpkin Ale, Buffalo Wings and Shredded Chicken Nachos! The Nachos were SOOO large that we had to bring half home! Because our bill was $0.00 of course we still made sure to leave a generous tip for our waitress.

I would call around or look online at some local to you- maybe even email them and send this post so they can get an idea, maybe if they don’t offer it they might 😉 never know until you try, right? haha

Moving to Utah brought many new and wonderful things in your lives! It is great that you found this lovely brewery! Me and my husband have also moved to a new city and started a house removal business (http://suttonmanandvan.org.uk/). It is really exciting and time consuming but the feeling of having your own thing is lovely! I wish you a great time in Utah!
