Charleston Beer Works | Out On The Town

Wednesday night my hubs and I were offered a chance to attend a private event at the Charleston Beer Works new location at 480 Kings Street, Charleston SC. The new location is a 2 story venue with an outdoor patio as well. It has tv screens throughout both levels and outside so you can check out any of your sport’s teams who might be playing. It also boasts a new menu.

Although I am not a beer drinker, the event was benefiting cancer research with the MUSC Hollings Cancer Center and also included live music and a delicious menu! Being new to the area we thought it would be fun to go check it out and get to know both our new neighbors and check out an awesome new locale- plus cancer. It’s had such a huge impact on our lives personally that we really love supporting anything that is going to take us one step closer to eradicating it.

The food was DELICIOUS and we were able to sample a large variety of their new menu. It was great to figure out what we would order there on our next trip- ALL of it was good but the crab and potato bisque was heaven to me!

The live music was awesome with a very “Black Keys” style, according to my hubs. Which is a huge compliment because he LOVES the “Black Keys”.

They have live music on most nights and have been one of the top 10 places to go dancing in Charleston. There was so much food set up on both floors as well as raffle table that it wasn’t really a dancing crowd but I can imagine it being the perfect space.

We made ourselves comfortable with our yummy food and enjoyed people watching, basketball and . The staff was awesome and kept our water glasses full and were really fun to get to know. I definitely appreciate that they were working an event so no one had tabs and they were still so accommodating. I hate to admit it but I have been to similar events where the staff was pretty grumbly (or been friends with said grumbly staff and listening to them complain about it has always rubbed me wrong). We talked to them about some of the different “nights” they have and they were so helpful on recommendations about which nights we would probably enjoy coming back in and which we might want to avoid- aka young college kids night. 🙂

Right before the raffle was drawn a group of runners went running through the establishment- in a nice polite way- and it was their running club. People meet there every Wednesday evening on the back patio and go for a group run around the city. They finish back at the Charleston Beer Works and socialize. I think that could be a great way to keep that running resolution up!

With their new menu, new location, great service and entertainment options this is going to be our new favorite place to watch sports!

I hope you have a fabulous weekend and if are in the area check the new location out! Or give us some suggestions of your favorite spots so we can try them out. That’s the good and bad side of a new city, we GET to try new places but we also don’t know which ones to try sometimes.

XOXO~ M & D

We didn’t win but it was still fun!
