Do you have an upcoming conference?? Here are our comfortable fashion finds!
Hey Beauties and WELCOME back!
For those of you that follow us on Instagram, Twitter and Periscope, you know that over the past weekend Melissa and I attended the BYBC2016 Conference here in Salt Lake City. We have been in the fashion world long enough and feel like we have a pretty good sense of style, but in the days leading up to the conference we were struggling with what to wear.
Being as we were going to be with hundreds of peers over the weekend, networking (and dancing) with amazing Fashion/Beauty/Lifestyle/Travel/Food bloggers we knew we couldn’t just wear our comfy clothes. We wanted to represent ourselves well!
With that in mind, we were also thinking about the hectic schedule that we would be maintaining- 13-15 hours days and wanted to make sure we wore clothes that would be fashionable but still comfortable. I totally believe that when you feel comfortable in your own skin that your whole experience of learning will be that much better. I don’t know about you guys but I can absolutely think back to a couple of work conferences I have been too where I wore this amazing blazer or a gorgeous pair of heels but didn’t really think that I would be doing makeup and didn’t do the reach/flexibility/standing test….Needless to say that all I could think about was how uncomfortable I was and how I really should have thought out my outfit for the activities I would be doing.
♦Here Are Melissa’s Comfortable Fashion Finds♦
AHH Can we just take moment and talk about how BEAUTIFUL my bestie is?!?!?! OK Great, now lets talk about this amazing outfit. We both decided that we wanted to wear flats, so we chose to dress it up by making sure we had a 3 piece outfit on.
Three piece meaning that we are either wearing a blazer, jacket or vest to dress up the outfit.
Melissa’s used items from Nordstrom, Target and Cents Of Style to put together her outfit.
- her Nordstrom finds were her Black Hunter Boots and
- Black Lush Blouse
- and her amazing faux fur vest
- she paired those with her black pants from Target and
- her Statement Necklace from Cents Of Style
It was perfect for keeping warm and comfortable but the layers gave her options in case a room was too warm.

Happy Friday beauties! It’s time for the crazy weather season to be upon us all. The time of year where it can go from warm→ to chilly→ to windy→ to rainy then back to warm, often in the same day! When the weather is so temperamental it’s hard to dress appropriately! The solution? Layers and a lightweight, infinity scarf!
This multi-tasking accessory adds style and function on top of so many versatile ways to wear it. If you followed our blog conference adventures last weekend you might even have noticed Deynece wearing a gorgeous light pink floral infinity scarf.
So we were suuuuuper excited when we found out about this Fashion Friday Deal going on with one of our favorite stores Cents Of Style. Right now you can get 2 scarves for $8.99 plus FREE SHIPPING!!!!! Just use code SCARVES2.

Hello Bella’s and Welcome back with Beauty Redefined.
Today we continue our Exploring Beauty Series with the Lovely Amanda Grieve. We first collaborated with Amanda for our Navy & Rose Smokey Eye Makeup Tutorial and we are so excited that we are working with her again.
Let’s get to know her, Amanda is a makeup artist and artistry educator for Sephora. She is also the creator for District of She magazine. An online women’s magazine rooted in the powerful idea that women can cultivate real raw human relationships among a culture that is socially connected but relationally detached. A breeding ground for passion, community over competition. Amanda has a heart for building community among women and loves to teach women how to use their cosmetics for confidence.
“Beauty Redefined”
Beauty, noun beau·ty \ˈbyü-tē\. Defined by Webster’s dictionary as the “the qualities in a person or a thing that give pleasure to the senses or the mind.”
The culturally accepted idea is that beauty exists solely within the appearance of things. We equate physical beauty somehow as a visual representation of what we know as “good,” and women specifically are targeted with idea that their worth is dependent upon their appearance. An oppressive mindset that proves that when we allow society to define what beauty is, then there is no such thing as innate beauty. There is an inability to cling to a definition of beauty because it becomes seasonally, locationally and culturally dictated. But, what if we didn’t allow the media and society to create such a narrow view of beauty within us? What if instead of holding our value solely within the physical appearance of who we are, we cultivated character that was unwavering? What if we focused on restructuring our minds to an “others first” mentality through sacrifice and spent more time diligently building one another up instead of becoming discouraged with comparison? What if we strive to be a generation of women who are proud to be women? A generation who strive for intellect, admire hard work, cultivate authentic relationships, embrace the expanse of our emotions and thirst for change?
That would be a definition of beauty worth fighting for; one that does not have an expiration date and cannot be so easily manipulated. A definition that we can stand firmly on and pass on to our children, empower within our youth and rekindle within the elderly. I believe beauty resides deeper within us, beyond our flawless complexion, luscious lashes and perfect pout. It is the innermost workings of what makes us unique. A servant heart, forgiving spirit and the ability to stand united.
Collectively, our voice as women is growing, and ever expanding but we must stay diligent in speaking the truth to each other. The truth that you, my sister, are valuable. You are beautiful, you are passionate and you have a spirit of greatness within you. Your worth is not measured by your physical appearance and you have the ability to ignite great change.
Let’s redefine beauty, give it a higher purpose, focus its attention on that which is not skin deep. When we begin to define beauty by that which is substance over appearance then we can truly cultivate the beginning steps for change.
If you aren’t already following her you should be and you can find her Magazine Instagram and her Personal Instagram here.

Are you attending a conference? Looking for some blog conference tips? Then you are in the right place!
Deynece and I have big goals this year, goals to help us be the best business ladies we can be and invest in our new endeavor. To provide the best information for our readers. One of the best ways to do this is through a blog conference. Our first is this week!!!! Our first was BYBC and it seriously knocked our socks off! I am blown away by the amazing people out there. The second will be at the end of April. It’s called the Summit C by The Southern C community and I am THRILLED to be going.
While BYBC was my first BLOG conference, I have attended dozens of other conferences. Conferences for medical students, for estheticians, for those in the mental health industry and its various specialties as well as business management. That’s a LOT of conferences!
In preparation I put together a few tips (reminders for myself) on how to get the most bang for your buck. The Southern C was kind enough to lend me some of their photos from last year and let me tell you- this “party” takes Southern charm and elegance to a whole new level. You’ll see what I mean…
